Selecting eyewear specifically designed for mountains and mountaineering ensures optimal eye protection in any lighting and weather conditions, allowing you to focus solely on nature immersion and performance, while also ensuring perfect facial and visual correction.

In the DEMON line of glasses for the mountains, you can find models with:

    • Polarized photochromic lenses 2 – 4

Recommended for mountaineering, ski mountaineering, and hiking, these glasses feature a lens that lightens and darkens with UV intensity, starting at category 2 and reaching category 4 at maximum activation. The lens also benefits from polarization, offering better contrast perception of natural colors, sharper vision, and reduced eye strain even in extreme light conditions. This ensures optimal visibility in any atmospheric conditions, essential for the unpredictable mountain environment.
The specialized model for outdoor activities, OUTDOOR, boasts a polarized and mirrored photochromic lens, representing a technical and aesthetic blend suitable for any outdoor activity.

    • Photochromic lenses 2 – 4: Recommended for mountaineering, ski mountaineering, and hiking, these glasses feature a lens that lightens and darkens with UV intensity, starting at category 2 and reaching category 4 at maximum activation. • Category 4 lenses: Recommended for hiking, mountaineering, and Nordic walking, these glasses feature very dark lenses, often used on glaciers. They are most effective in areas with strong brightness and UV intensity. While category 4 lenses are typically used for mountaineering glasses, they can also benefit athletes who are particularly sensitive to intense light during hiking and trekking.
    • Category 3 lenses: Recommended for Nordic Walking, Hiking, and Climbing, these glasses feature medium-dark lenses suitable for trips at low altitudes where the use of darker lenses may not be necessary. The category 3 lens is ideal for trekkers seeking mountain glasses suitable for every outing at lower altitudes.
    • Polarized lenses: Recommended for Hiking, Climbing, and Nordic Walking, these glasses feature the most comfortable lens ever, providing better perception of the contrast of natural colors and clearer vision. Additionally, the polarized lens option is available for trekkers seeking mountain glasses to accompany them on every outing.
    • Category 4 Polarized Lenses: Recommended for mountaineering, this particular lens combines the protection of a category 4 lens with the technicality of a polarized lens.

CORRECTION OF VISUAL DEFECTS

For outdoor adventures where you need versatility in your vision, the model OUTDOOR with bifocal lenses would be the ideal choice. This model offers support for both single vision and bifocal lenses, catering to individuals who require clear vision for both distant views and up-close tasks such as reading instruments like GPS or smartphones. With its wide clip, it ensures compatibility with various lens types, allowing you to fully enjoy your outdoor excursions without compromising on vision clarity.

If you're into trekking or hiking, the FUSION and INFINITE OPTIC models with their smaller clips are perfect choices. They specifically support single vision lenses for distant viewing, ideal for these activities where clarity in far-off vision is crucial. However, for more intense activities like mountaineering, where you may need both distant and close-up vision for instrument reading, the OUTDOOR model would be more suitable due to its support for bifocal lenses. So, if you're gearing up for mountaineering adventures, it's wise to opt for the OUTDOOR model for enhanced versatility in your vision needs.

GRADUATION DIRECTLY ON THE FRAME:

As an alternative to clip-on options, the option of having the prescription directly applied to the frame is available for the VISTA SPORT, SPECIAL, and LAYER models.

The VISTA SPORT model, designed for specialized use, features a wraparound frame. When fitting the lenses into this frame, the base 8 lens will transform into a base 6, effectively reducing the risk of lateral visual distortions. This adjustment not only enhances visual clarity but also lowers the cost of lens prescriptions.

It will thus be possible to equip sun vision lenses, enabling one to engage in both hiking and mountaineering while correcting any visual impairments.

On the other hand, the SPECIAL and LAYER models are genuine optical frames crafted from sports eyewear materials.

We recommend these models for individuals engaging in hiking and trekking, as they offer less coverage and protection against wind, side light, and inclement weather, which can be particularly bothersome at higher altitudes.

Ultra-lightweight Frames Resistant to High and Low Temperatures:

The frames of mountain glasses are composed of a special TR90 material, which is a combination of Nylon and Carbon Fiber. This composition makes the mountain glasses 20% lighter than those made from conventional materials, while also enhancing their resistance to accidental impacts and strains. TR90 proves to be the optimal material for creating eyeglasses for mountain and mountaineering due to its superior resistance to both high and low temperatures.

For certain models, an adjustable elastic band made from Neoprene is included to provide a better fit and grip during challenging passages. This feature proves useful for climbing sections and practicing alpinism.

Additionally, some models come with a removable internal sweatband sponge made from hypoallergenic rubber. This feature prevents sweat from dripping into the eyes during periods of intense exertion, while also offering protection from lateral sunlight. This technology is especially valued by those who engage in alpinism.
